“I believe together we can create open and affirming spaces that nurture the brilliance of youth. In these spaces, youth can develop the tools and skills they need to shape our future. I believe in our collective ability to effect change in schools across the state and beyond.”
As the communications specialist, I help to implement the communications strategy that supports our mission of achieving equity in education by working with those affected and inspiring all to end racism and poverty. The most pressing issues we need to address to achieve equity in education exist at the intersection of race and poverty. This intersection is where we see the most egregious manifestations of racism that result in the inequities within our education system.
My approach to communications work centers and amplifies the voices and experiences of our Black, Indigenous, Brown, and other historically/currently disenfranchised communities working for justice in education and across intersecting systems.
