Community Conversations About EducationThe League of Women Voters believes that a sense of community is an essential element in a free and open society. The William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund has made possible a wonderful statewide project to open the windows of our minds and allow the free flow of dialogue play into the important issues of the day. Community Conversations About Education is a valuable tool for a community to rediscover their common ideals and identify their common flaws. The free and open exchange of ideas in a non-threatening environment has brought hundreds of Connecticut residents to a greater sense of community and a clearer definition of their goals. The League of Women Voters of Connecticut has enthusiastically supported and promoted this project from its beginning as it reinforces our mission of community involvement and information. We expect many more useful and fruitful discussions in the towns and regions of our state as more and more groups come forward to plan for their towns’ involvement. The League is proud to be a part of this program. |
