Program Officer

“Education is a valuable tool that gives me opportunities that I wouldn’t have otherwise. My education journey has been hard. A single mother raised me, and I witnessed how difficult it was for her to navigate the education system. I get excited imagining a world where every person receives a good quality education.”

Margarita is a member of the Program Implementation Team. She is most enthusiastic about efforts that will support lifting the voices of marginalized parents, especially Hispanic/Latinx parents with limited or no English proficiency.

She obtained her master’s degree in Sociology from Southern Connecticut State University. Her thesis research focused on parent involvement.
