The William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund works collaboratively
to improve education for Connecticut's children. The Memorial Fund
provides grants, technical assistance, and a forum for information-sharing
across the state to:
support educational change in schools.
inform public debate through policy research and advocacy.
strengthen the involvement
of parents and the community in education.
The largest single investment of the Memorial Fund
to date has been the Children First Initiative, now a seven-year commitment
totaling over $7 million. This publication shares the lessons being
learned by the participating communities with others interested in
engaging communities in improving the lives of young children.
